“The happiest man is he who learns from nature the lesson of worship”- Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature, relates to this scene in Cast Away because it shows how ecstatic Chuck is because he finally lit a fire, and how he worships it since it now means he can cook food.


"What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." -Henry David Thoreau's quote relates to this scene because it shows that the fire coming alive doesn't compare to the sense of achievement Chuck feels when it lights.
